A British Three Man Team has broken the 40 year old London to Cape Town record with support from SJH Projects.
The team lead by Mac Mackenney of Max Adventure completed the 10,000 miles and 21 countries in 11 days 14 hours breaking the existing record by 1 day and 18 hours.
Steve Holland of SJH Projects acted as the UK Operations base, which involved keeping the website up to date and relaying communications to deal with the ever evolving bureaucracy – some of the border crossing rules and paperwork changed whilst they were on the road.
Although it would have been more exciting to be in the road group, there was some vicarious fun to be had when Mac would break off from a call on the satellite phone to start negotiations with a customs official or border guard, leaving Steve to listen in.
